{The First Week}

It is no surprise that Emma is handling this transition like a complete champion! The first week went well for the most part. We eased into full time relatively quickly and she was napping in it by day 3.

Day 2

Day 3

She gets much warmer in the helmet then normal so we have to be extra mindful when things are warm that she isn't over dressed. She got a little heat rash down her back Wendesday while in Costco. It was pretty toasty in there with no A/C and although in good spirits, she got hot! We are certainly looking forward to the cooler weather. She was also teething pretty ferociously the whole week, which made it difficult at times to determine if it is her mouth bothering her or her helmet.

Day 4

Day 5

Thursday, through Friday was her first 23 hour day and she did really well. That night when I took it off to clean it before dinner, bath, bedtime story and nigh night, I noticed there were two spots on her head (left side above her ear and against her right cheekbone) that looked more irritated than normal. I kept an eye on them and after an hour and a half without the helmet there were still red marks where it appeared the helmet was putting some un-welcomed pressure. With that, I certainly wasn't putting it back on. Conveniently enough, it was Friday night and we are not able to get into Hanger's until tomorrow morning to have them shave it down in those areas.

Day 6

The last thing I want is for her to experience any discomfort so we had the weekend helmet-free. Monday, we will be jumping back to an 8 hour on schedule before full time again.

Here are a few photos from her weekend with wind in her hair. ;)

BEEP BEEP!

Thank you for keeping up to date and again, we sincerely appreciate the support, love, prayers and encouragement. As for fun little updates, Emma enjoys feeding herself now (little puffs and cut up foods), crawls with lightening speed, pulls herself up on everything, plays peek-a-boo and is working hard to push those first teeth through!

God Bless,
